About Liz

Elizabeth “Liz” Bernard is an Animation Supervisor with more than 18 full-length feature film and several shorts and episodics work credits. She most recently supervised animation on the upcoming feature Free Guy, due to hit theatres...sometime! (Free Guy's release date has been delayed by Covid-19)

Liz holds a B.A. in Drama from the University of Virginia, and has an extensive background in theatre arts both on- and back-stage, as well as photography, all of which combine to give her an exceptional eye for composition, scene building, and storytelling. She has a special passion for bringing animals, creatures, and monsters not just to life, but to an emotional connection with the audience. She has supervised or led animation on many blockbuster films including “Terminator: Dark Fate,“ Marvel Studios’ “Captain Marvel,“ “Thor: Ragnarok,” “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” and Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast,” “A Wrinkle in Time,” and “Maleficent,” among many others. In addition to her feature work, she also supervised animation for several episodic and commercial projects, including “Lemony Snicket’s ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’” and the forthcoming Disney Plus show “Loki.“

After joining Digital Domain’s team as an animator in 2011, Liz rose to Lead Animator and then Animation Supervisor very quickly. She has continued to progress her own craft and that of the entire department with her sharp eye for detail, crucial in many processes including previsualization, pipeline and show tools development and more.

Liz and the fully stacked animation team are an integral part of the visual effects innovators and CG artists at Digital Domain, consistently bringing the impossible to the screen.
